Re: who have you seen/missed from the old school?
Fri, January 6, 2006 - 2:29 PMOk, I didn't see anybody the first time around, but I'm very glad I got to see Gang of Four last year.
Bush Tetras are playing live dates (and I think working on new material) again.
Did anybody else buy the Fire Engines comp? I just got it yesterday.

Re: who have you seen/missed from the old school?
Fri, January 6, 2006 - 2:57 PMSeen (among many others): Gang of Four, DNA, PIL in 1982 or 1983, Bush Tetras, The Clash, Siouxsie and the Banshees in a small club on their first US tour, New Order at the Paradise Garage in NYC circa 1983.
I, too, missed an Au Pairs show circa 1981, when I wanted to go, and I am still filled with regret. -

Fri, January 6, 2006 - 3:32 PMI was there!
I saw the Rapture when they played the SFSU dorms about 8 years ago. I told them to get a sax and an arpeggiator.
I think I'm a lot younger and less-British than you guys. -

Re: who have you seen/missed from the old school?
Fri, January 6, 2006 - 4:12 PMFor a 20th century missed show-- I was (almost) there:
Tim and I were in London in 2002 (at the dawn of the modern discopunk era) and we went to Trash, Erol Alkan's club. That night was one of the very early performances of LCD Soundsystem. Tim and I were record shopping late, and by the time we arrived at Trash, we had missed LCD Soundsystem. That same trip, the Faint and Radio 4 were playing together at a small club in Camden, but we couldn't get in-- it was sold out.
