So, today, I found a DFA remix that I didn't already have, so I'm wondering if there are more out there that I don't know about... Here's what I've found:
Chromeo - Destination Overdrive
Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Dennis Taylor - Smile
Fischerspooner - Emerge
Floetry - Gettin' Late
Junior Senior - Shake Your Coconuts
Le Tigre - Deceptacon
Mariah Carey - Heartbreak
Metro Area - Orange Alert
Radio 4 - Dance to the Underground
The Rapture - Sister Saviour
Unkle - In a State
I've left out all the LCD Soundsystem, Black Dice, etc from their label... their production work, in other words... and I know there's a new N.E.R.D. remix out there, but I haven't found it yet...
Anything else?

Re: DFA Remixes
Fri, March 12, 2004 - 1:18 PMYou are hardcore, there are a few on here I didn't even know about.
Is the Mariah Carey thing really them?
I remember searching once and seeing an Usher DFA remix. I know nothing about.
The N.E.R.D. mix is good. I heard it on xfm. I think it was just released.

Re: DFA Remixes
Fri, March 12, 2004 - 1:53 PMOk, this is so wrong. I just had to find out about the Mariah DFA thing, so I did a search and found some house dj mix, with it on there. I'm listening to it right now. I don't know that I've ever actually heard a Mariah Carey song, ugh. It's also a Def Leppard cover. Horrible. -

Re: DFA Remixes
Fri, March 12, 2004 - 3:37 PMHey now, Mariah Carey's voice is a wonderful element when used properly. Witness Emergency Broadcast Network's "Get Down". See the video:

Re: DFA Remixes
Fri, March 12, 2004 - 10:19 PMI read somewhere, on some website, that they're friends with Mariah and that's how that one happened... it is pretty awful...

Re: DFA Remixes
Fri, March 19, 2004 - 5:53 AMEmergency Broadcast Network? What a blast from the past! That name brings me back to when I was a college student, and I'd go see them at the Strand in Providence. I completely forget about that song until you mentioned it.

Re: DFA Remixes
Wed, October 11, 2006 - 12:40 PMI'm lame....I really, really like the Mariah Carey one. It totally subdues her histrionics and is really pretty.
But is it actually DFA? I can't seem to find a definitive answer.... -

Re: DFA Remixes
Wed, October 11, 2006 - 1:20 PMOh, the Mariah Carey that is a "DFA Mix" is some other DFA actually.

Thu, December 15, 2005 - 3:49 PMHa! When you get the hook-up, remember meeeeeeee!
So what's your guys' take on Daniel Wang?
I saw him in Tokyo about 6 months ago, he's huge there, it's crazy. He's pretty dorky so of course I approve.

Re: DFA Remixes
Sun, January 22, 2006 - 9:16 PMDoes anyone else get irritated when you've gone to so much trouble to collect this stuff, then they just put it all out as a big collection (not that I won't buy it)? -
-
Re: DFA Remixes
Mon, January 23, 2006 - 4:54 AMI don't really, since you've already gotten it all first and before a lot of people. and assuming you have it on the vinyl, it's much cooler. a few things I have on both vinyl and CD, and I think CD collections are cool for listening to and ripping.
I have a lot of Gigolo vinyl going back to 2000, '97 actually but started buying it in '00 when I got a turntable. I was maybe a little annoyed when they started putting out CD comps, but I already had it and had other music to buy anyway.
also I think people who actually collect music, crate-dig, etc. have a lot more fun with it than people who just buy a compilation a year(s) later.
or that's what I tell myself anyway!

Re: DFA Remixes
Wed, January 25, 2006 - 12:22 PMIt all comes home to roost when I play clubs and parties that don't have CD players; which is every party and club I've played in the last two years except for one.
