got word from twitch on a tentative date in SF for late Feb that is now questionable, he says he definitely wants to come out sometime this year if this gig falls through.

Tim Sweeney (Beats In Space) is the opening act... he's done almost all of the DFA mixes... he's amazing. He spun at the Rickshaw last year or the year before and it was carayzee.
He'll also be the opening act for Twitch at the Optimo SF night to string this all together. -

I saw the show in Chicago last week and though the energy was still there, Maclean's set suffered from techinal difficulties for the first 3/4 of it. He was visibly upset and kept apologizing, saying that he'd do his best. Things finally got fixed before a solid and jammed out Shining Skinned Friend but the show ended before it was even an hour long. I'd say his opening set with LCD last year was much better. -

Anyways, highlights for me:
The "I Feel Love" arpeggiations into "Is It All Over My Face?" I had to take a break after this and that bathroom line sucked! Totally killed my buzz.
Also, the Dare remix sounded fantastic in Sweeney's set... Pretty techy stuff some Derrick Carter and some mid-tempo unclassics. -

Mon, February 27, 2006 - 11:59 AMI have to give the Gun Club promoters credit for the great turnout. But the new space was uncomfortable with that many people, and no delineated dance floor. And only 2 single person bathrooms does not work. The Dark Room has a posted legal capacity of only around 140-- but there must have been 2-3 times that many people there.
I really enjoyed Twitch's set, but we were getting grumpy towards the end, after being bumped and jostled for 4 hours, and after a long wait in the bathroom line.
